Let’s be clear. Tamika Clemons did not want to come to QLI. It wasn’t anything personal, it was just too far from home and certainly too far from her daughter Tamiyah, the center of her universe.

But, a compassionate case manager at a rehabilitation center in St. Louis convinced her to check out QLI, and Tamika cautiously rolled through our doors on December 14th, 2021.

For the next five and a half months, Tamika thrived. She bolstered her strength and abilities, and she met so many people she now calls family.

On May 2nd, 2022, Tamika walked out those same doors with a confident and purposeful stride, just in time to be home for Mother’s Day.

Tamika shared her QLI journey on her final day here.

This is her story, in her own words.
